Subclass 482 Nomination

A business that wants to assist a worker obtain a subclass 482 visa must first be an approved sponsor, and then must submit a ‘nomination’ application. Once lodged, the worker will then be able to submit their visa application.

Some of the main requirements for a subclass 482 Nomination include:

  • Selecting the correct stream

  • Selecting an eligible occupation

  • Salary must be above $76,515 and be no less than the market rate for the role

  • The market rate for the position must be above $76,515

  • The position must be genuine and make sense within the context of the business

Some applications will require the sponsoring business to conduct Labour Market Testing (‘LMT’) prior to submitting their nomination application. LMT requirements are technical and unforgiving of mistakes. It is important sponsoring businesses get assistance with the LMT requirement in particular to ensure applications are not refused.

Our fee to assist with a one-off nomination application is $3300, inclusive of GST. Businesses with a need to nominate multiple employees can expect a reduced per application fee.

Subclass 482 Visa Application

The Subclass 482 visa is a temporary visa that typically lasts from 1 - 4 years. Some of the core criteria that visa applicants must meet are:

  • Have 1 year of full-time or part-time equivalent employment experience in the past 5 years

  • Have the qualifications or employment experience expected to perform at a skilled level

  • Demonstrate sufficient English language ability

  • Pass health and character tests

Holders of the 482 visa may be able to apply for the Subclass 186 Visa with employer support after working for 2 years on the 482 visa.

Our fee to assist with a one-off Subclass 482 Visa Application is $3300. An additional $275 will be incurred for each additional family member included in the application. Further fees may be charged for applicants with complex applications, such as health or character concerns.
