Child Visa Overview
Child Visas allow children of Australian citizens or permanent residents to obtain permanent residency. Note that children born to Australian citizens or permanent residents are automatically Australian citizens. However, children born before their parent becomes an Australian citizen or permanent resident must apply for a visa to come to Australia.
The following are core requirements of the child visa program:
Applicants must be under 18 years old, or under 25 and studying full-time
Have never been married or in a de-facto relationship
Be sponsored by an eligible Australian citizen or permanent resident
Meet health and character requirements
Child Visa processing times can be lengthy. People planning on submitting a Child Visa application should discuss the application with a qualified professional prior to submission to avoid visa refused after a multi-year processing time.
Pricing
Our standard fee to assist with a Child Visa application is $6600. Applicants with complex cases for reasons such as health, character or legality of adoption can expect to incur increased fees.
